About us

Since its establishment in 1998 HopScotch has enabled over 3,000 children to have a break at Ardvullin. Groups of 12 children visit Ardvullin with their carers for a week at a time and we work in partnership with these carers to ensure that each child's needs are catered for.

When the Charity first started its simple aim was to give children a much needed holiday, where they could relax and enjoy themselves. It soon became apparent that a far more structured and nurturing approach was required to try and address the problems the children were suffering from. Consequently HopScotch has built ongoing relationships with many child care organisations throughout Scotland who work with the most disadvantaged children. Our trained Project Worker drives and guides groups and is on hand to support and encourage children during their stay at Ardvullin. Children leave Ardvullin with an increased ability to address their own problems and overcome the hurdles they face in their everyday lives.
